Prespectives of Humn Rights in India

In this book, the present position of human rights in India has been reviewed in the light of the history and development of human rights in the world.

There has been worldwide consciousness about human rights, especially in the aftermath of world war II. The United Nations developed a charter of human rights and this charter has been reviewed and modified by the UN from time to time. Many international organizat- ions are working in the field of human rights. Human Rights violat- ions have been condemned by these organizations and the UN.

Though there are sometimes serious violations of human rights in India, the National Human Rights Commission has been doing commendable world in drawing the attention of the government of India for its intervention and there is greater awareness among the Indians about these rights.
